Accreditation Process and Fees
Initial Accreditation
- In preparation for accreditation, an applicant will review its current procedures and revise or create new procedures in order to conform to HRA Canada's accreditation standards. An Accreditation Manager is assigned to the Applicant in order to assist the applicant during this process. Various self-assessment tools are also available to assist the applicant.
- When an applicant is confident that its procedures are complete, HRA Canada’s Site Reviewers conduct a Site Assessment (on-site or remote). During the Site Assessment, the Site Reviewers review the applicant's procedures against the requirements of the accreditation standards. The applicant is provided ample time to revise its procedures, if necessary.
- A Site Assessment Report (SAR) is prepared by the Site Assessment Team that describes the review and its findings and conclusions.The Accreditation Council meets to review the SAR and makes recommendations concerning the applicant’s accreditation.

Annual Renewal
- An Annual Renewal Site Assessment is conducted prior to the anniversary date of the applicant's accreditation cycle for as long as the applicant remains accredited. HRA Canada conducts a Site Assessment (on-site or remote) to review the applicant’s practices against its accredited procedures. The applicant is provided ample time to determine the appropriate correction and preventative actions (CAPAs) to address any findings observed by the Site Reviewers.
- A Site Assessment Report (SAR) is prepared by the Site Assessment Team that describes the review and its findings and conclusions.The Accreditation Council meets to review the SAR and makes recommendations concerning the applicant’s renewal of accreditation.

Modifications to HRPP Accreditation
- Due to the dynamic nature of HRPPs, applicants may need to modify their structure and/or procedures. Depending on the nature of the modification(s), a review may need to be conducted to ensure that the HRPP continues to meet the accreditation standards. In some cases, a fee is associated with the review.

Feasibility Assessment
- Applicants can benefit from the expertise of HRA Canada's Site Reviewers for ad hoc reviews of procedures. This Feasibility Assessment evaluates procedures against the applicable accreditation standards and their readiness for accreditation.
